Buddhism helps to create an orderly society by teaching and asking buddhists to follow the ten good deeds:
abstain from greed
1) abstain from killing
2) abstain from stealing
3) abstain from sexual misconduct
4) abstain from lying
5) abstain from harsh language
6) abstain from divisive speech
7) abstain from meaningless chatter
9) abstain from hatred/anger
10) abstain from ignorance
Good deeds #1 to #5 are part of most modern societies’ laws. #6-7 promotes harmony and #8-10 promotes individual’s mental health and thus happiness.
