Brian’s Song and Philadelphia really made the world wake up and start learning about HIV and AIDS, instead of panicking.
Philadelphia was also one of the first movies that I can remember have a gay character as the lead, and showed that gay people aren’t really that different than straight people. They just sleep next to someone different at night.
Saving Private Ryan – the sacrifices soldiers make for us and each other.
Forrest Gump – we should all she the world in a better light.
Pursuit of Happyness – if you want something , go get it. period.
those are just some of mine :p
The Godfather… opened the nation’s eyes to the Mafia.
Star Wars… created a cult following; opened the door to special effects.
Seinfeld… everybody talked about it the next day. The Seinfeld curse continues…
Sopranos… took television to a whole new level of reality. Made people see the real side of the mob instead of a glorified one.
