What religious programs? Like evangelical preachers? Not highly. If you mean like historical programs, eh, no different than people looking at cultural channels I suppose, nothing wrong with expanding your mind a bit.

They can watch whatever rubbish on television they like. They can also attend or not attend any religious service or church they like.

Why is it any one else’s business and who cares? Why do you judge them?

I am atheist and I could care less.

Um it could work I guess. There are some evangelical preachers on networks like TBN that are flat out wrong about almost everything (like abortion, gay marriage, etc.) and play on their viewers emotions. However, there are some that I respect and are doing what they believe will help people. Even though I don’t believe in it, I can respect that. And if I believed in God, I could easily see the appeal of being able to see the different views instead of conforming to one church’s ideas.

Sometimes they help shut ins, those who can’t get to church for various reasons, people who love the Lord but have problems dealing with society at large, but are hungry for the Word. God loves them just as much as He loves you.

If it is impossible for him to go to church or is innocent that it is his duty to do so, he is safe with the Lord. As the Gentiles in Romans that they do not go to church but conscience is imprinted in their heart, the bible says they are saved. Person is judged by his heart and his good deeds.

I think they must be attracted by something in those religious programs on television. I can’t judge these people anymore than anyone else who doesn’t attend church as there are probably as many reasons as their are people who don’t attend church. . What they are doing doesn’t seem to be illegal and compared to most of the other mainstream television media religious programs often make more sense and don’t seem to have as many distracting commercials to contend with. .

Some are ill, some are handicapped in some way it dosent matter to me,as long as their hearts are focused on me and the meat of the word then the invisible rays of blessing ,gifts, added graces and signal graces still flow to them from that same priest during the communion and eucharist,But I also expect to see them in church again when they get better or they will no longer get any benefits from me.
Hears a blessing and a our father prayed just for you.Practice the holy rosary for world peace and for your own inner and spiritual renewal.

My father and stepmother do this. They say there is not enough time to take a five minute drive down to the local church. They never speak about God, they never say anything about him, nor do they follow anything written in the Bible. Yet they take special time out of their day to torment their atheistic, homosexual child (Me) in order to be bigoted, moronic, and close-minded.

Now, onto the answer to the question, the only experience I have with this would be my parents, who are morons. Yet I can’t judge people as a whole because of the actions of two people, (I’m not a Christian, there for I don’t have the rights to judge people based on stupid, flawed texts.) so I would say it differs between different people and families. I personally believe if people hold something in their heart they will act upon it, rather you are religious and go to church, religious and stay home, or anti-religious and do what you wish, it can vary person to person. So making a judgment on a certain group of people based on what a select few does is highly immature, but then again, I would expect this much from people who are religious.. Long story short; I can’t judge if they go to a church or not. If they are religious, then they are religious. If they are not, then they are not. Simple as that.

I think they miss out on the presence of “community” i.e. fellow believers. It’s one thing to watch on TV when you are a shut-in or very elderly or do not drive. And it’s ok. But I personally think it’s better to be able to be present to the community of worshipers. You get strength from them and they draw strength from you. Just my opinion. No offering is taken up in your living room. You are not supporting the ministry if you merely watch it. Impossible to receive Communion via a TV set. No one to join hands with when praying the Lord’s Prayer. I would have to say it may work if it’s all that’s possible for someone but is not the optimum.
