Question by EPOX: How is it legal for companies to sell marijuana seeds?
I’ve noticed ads in alternative magazines, weekly trend newspaper mags etc of companies selling marijuana seeds. How is this legal? It seems it would be possession and companies would be shut down. Are seeds considered immune to the national and state drug laws?

Most countries around the world are bound by international treaties which ban the drug cannabis for recreational purposes. These treaties define the drug cannabis as the flowering tops, there for the seeds are not illegal under international law and some countries (like the UK) choose to only ban the drug cannabis and not the seeds, which can be used as a nutritious source of food or bird seed. Although some countries (like the US or Australia) define cannabis seeds as the drug cannabis and there for they are illegal in these countries, even though the seeds contain no THC and can’t get you high.

Most of these sellers are out of country. Seeds are illegal in most of the US.
