Problem by pinedo1983: House security system without signing a agreement?
I am searching for a property protection method that I dont have to signal a agreement, that does not charge far too considerably, and that i can install myself. The reason for this is that in todays economic system no ones work is secure and i dont want to enter into a contract that I will have to spend for in buy to get out of. Can any individual recommend any business that won’t require me to signal a contract, and can possible install myself (P.S. I am allergic to dogs so that is not an alternative)

Look in the yellow pages,, Slomans, ADT, Wells Fargo ? etc, most companys can install a system for whatever cost for installation, that can be the end of it, But what costs you ie:contract wise , is if you opt for 24hr Monitoring. otherwise Nada. Ok do do it yourselfers, go to Home Depot ask questions, they will know what you need and show ya how to do it as well. or you can hire the person to come and install. Also there are wireless systems available, so you won’t have to run a mess of wires to any degree. hope this helped?

You might have luck checking with local electrical contractors. Some of them may be able to get the same systems as the big security companies (ADT, Protection One, etc.), but install it as a “stand alone” system. The two drawbacks are that you will probably still have to pay for installation and it will not be monitored. If you go this route, you will most definitely pay more for the system. But, you will not be stuck with a 3 year monitor contract (at about $ 35 per month) either. The system will be yours too.

Just my personal opinion…The monitoring is a waste of money (unless you add smoke alarms, at an additional cost of course). I’ve never heard of burglars who hear the alarm siren and still stick around and wait to see if the cops are going to come. They hear the siren and split. They are usually long gone by the time the cops show up. (no, that is not intended as a negative comment towards police officers)
