Depends a lot on what state you’re in, whether you or your ex-husband has custody of the kids, and whether the mother of the 2 kids from the first marriage is still in the picture.

In some states (like here in California) there is a computer program that you input a lot of financial, custodial, and property information into, and it spits out a number and the judge then considers that number in light of the global circumstances.

In almost every state, if you and your ex-husband can reach an agreement betweent the two of you that you both can live with, the court will approve and enforce that agreement. If you do reach an agreement with your ex-husband, WRITE IT DOWN and make sure that BOTH OF YOU SIGN IT. Both of you get a copy.

Background:

I was a lousy writer growing up and through practice picked up some pretty good skills – I can usually find errors in a copywriters resume.

I was never visually creative growing up but now I’m a web designer and I have a very good eye for a good design which I developed over 5-7 years of doing hundreds of websites.

So my questions are:

1) Can I expect similar results with music?…because I don’t really have a good ear…I can’t listen to a pop song and hear the tonality of the chords.

2) Will music require the same…or perhaps more…commitment to mastery than writing and web design did? Is it something that would need hours a day?

Well… if you can go to that apartment or house and actually meet people and look around then chances are it’s real… if they want you to send money or deposit without meeting, then it’s a scam.

Just because it’s on craigslist, doesn’t mean it’s someone trying to steal from you.

It’s like normal poker, but online. Your actions are simulated. If you want to call, you click the ‘call’ button, and the fold and bet etc buttons are all there too. It’s a lot faster though and there’s a time limit to playing your hands.

I’m new to geocaching and want a basic GPS that doesn’t cost a fortune and one that will work straight out of the box without having to buy expensive topo maps etc. What do you recommend?

That’s a tough one to answer with the information you have given.

What you consider a “fortune” is chump change to others (and vice versa). And you don’t state what “extras” you want in a GPS unit.

The Garmin Etrex H will do the basic GPS function of showing you your latitude and longitude, speed, etc., and the direction to another set of coordinates. It has a high-sensitivity receiver and costs about $ 100. But it has a serial port interface, doesn’t have mapping capability, is black-and-white, etc. But you can geocache with it (lots of folks do).

Personally, I’d look for a unit that has a color screen, USB interface, map capability, and allows the use of memory cards. Something like a Garmin 60CSx or Oregon (some of those come with pre-loaded topo maps).

And you can get maps for free. GPSFileDepot.com has free maps for Garmin, there are free Canada maps as well. See the forums at geocaching.com for more info and advice.

It is very difficult to get published. My co-worker and I have created a Art curriculum and teachers manual that we are trying to get published.
There are writer’s guides available at bookstores and the library that can help. When submitting a proposal, they sometimes say to enclose a self addressed envelope if you want the material back. I always enclose the SASE. At least then you know, if you get your stuff back, that somebody took the time to open up what you sent, instead of throwing it in the wastebasket. We have thought about getting an agent, but haven’t started that process. Good Luck to you in your search.

Just about every household now has a computer, with many having more than one computer. With new technology constantly being developed and released, upgrading to a new computer is common occurrence. This means that there are hundred of thousands of computers that are disposed of each year. Because computer components contain toxic chemicals, heavy metals, and carcinogens, disposal in a landfill is hazardous to the environment. Today, to protect the environment and reduce waste, recycling computers has become an established method of managing unwanted computers.

There are now a number of companies and organizations that accept computers for recycling. Computer systems in good condition are labeled to be used again, and then overhauled, and sold for a discount. Computers that cannot be refurbished are taken apart and checked out for working parts. When a computer is sent for recycling, the unusable parts are separated into specific categories that include: motherboards, plastics, and metal. They are then sold to the recyclers. Anything that is not reused or recycled will be incinerated. This saves the computers from going into the landfills. Dell is one large company that has established a Computer ‘Take-Back’ program. Their goal is to reuse about 85% of the materials from the computers.

Another way of recycling computers is refurbishing an old computer and either resell it or give it to a charity. There are programs set up where people can drop off their computers at a specified location or they can have them picked for recycling. Staples and Dell are two companies that have such a program. You can also check with the manufacturer of your computer to see what recycling programs the company offers. If they do not have a program, there are Computer Recycling businesses that will take any computer including its system units, printers, monitors, and peripherals. As well, Dell and Apple have developed electronic end-of-life programs. You can find some type of recycling or end-of-life program in almost every state in the United States and almost every province in Canada. There are even companies that have partnered with schools to provide refurbished computers to the schools. You could also donate a computer to your favorite charity.

Another way to dispose of your computer is to contact your local government office to find out if they have special electronics pick up days where they will take the computer for recycling or proper disposal. These special e-waste collection days will also be advertised in newsletters, fliers, or in local newspapers.

Because there are so many computers that people want top get rid of each year, Computer recycling is a wise choice. With the average lifespan of computers becoming shorter, computer recycling has become a vital part of proper waste management. It is good to know that there are a wide variety of computer recycling options available so hopefully everyone will have computer recycling program near them. When you are ready for a new computer, take advantage of one of the many computer recycle programs in your area. It is always rewarding to protect the environment and help other people.
