Question by Sgt ɥdɐɹƃd: How could information technology resolve a social problem?
I was considering writing about how a national mass transit system could be created very cheaply and efficiently through Information Technology, and GPS. My paper I’m writing can only be a two-page max, so I have to keep it short or too much detail and my paper won’t meet the length requirement.

Since the paper was your idea, why not, um, write it yourself?

And it’s simple…use GPS to track all of the trains/buses/planes and use an amazing algorithm to determine largest areas of traffic, timing, etc.

The biggest issues with such a system:
1. Hackers out to fcuk everyone.
2. Broken receivers/transmitters and maintinence.
3. Pissed off IT guys.
4. Timing and traffic. You need A LOT of transit in big cities, but you need to time everything just right so everyone gets where they need to go without, you know, being killed.
